Overview
The Crew/Employee Portal is the mobile-friendly workspace for field, shop, and yard work in Dirt Face. Field installers, shop fabricators, and yard staff sign in here instead of the main office dashboard to run their assigned modules.
Anyone who tracks time in Dirt Face uses the same Time card for clock in, weekly hours, and timesheet submission. That includes office workers: open My time from the avatar menu on the office dashboard, or switch to the operations portal via the portal switcher if you have both roles.
What each person sees depends on their assigned operations areas (field, shop, yard). A field installer sees schedule and jobs; a shop worker sees fabrication queues; someone assigned to multiple areas sees each relevant module.
Office staff invite operations workers, assign operations areas, and dispatch work from Schedule. See Setup for office for prerequisites.
Where in the app: Operations employees → Time card or assigned module; office workers → avatar → My time
Open: Time card · Field schedule · Operations portal overview
Who uses it
| User | What they do in the portal |
|---|---|
| Field installers | View schedule, run jobs onsite, photos, progress, mark complete |
| Shop / fabrication staff | Shop work queue and shop tasks |
| Yard / staging staff | Yard queue, material pulls, staging tasks |
| Dual-role employees (office + ops) | Office dashboard and operations modules via portal switcher |
| Office workers (time only) | Main dashboard; track time from avatar → My time or Time card |
| Office staff (managers) | Main dashboard; assign work from Schedule |
Operations accounts are created under Manage Team. Assign each person the correct operations areas (field, shop, yard) so they only see the modules they need.
Portal header
The top bar shows your company logo and name (from Company Info), module tabs for assigned areas, the Time card link, help, and connection status. Users with office access also see a link back to the main dashboard.
